Answer: Six months from the date of activation, however, if there have been extenuating circumstances, NAUI may give you additional time for completion. We will request this on the student diver's behalf.
Answer: NAUI is a WRSTC (World Recreational Scuba Training Council) Member and all courses are ISO 21416:2019 Certified. A standard accepted worldwide by any reputable dive center.
Answer: NAUI gives the Instructor the academic and in water freedom to train their students beyond the minimum standards (aka "The Checklist") and to a higher, more competent level than their PADI counterparts.
Answer: Yes, you may purchase the eLearning portion of the course separately and pay the remainder on the first night of class. (click here to purchase)
Answer: The eLearning portion of the course is online and entirely self-paced. Adults usually take four to six hours to finish the eLearning. We suggest allowing two to three weeks for the ten to fourteen year old age group.
Answer: The course starts with a classroom session on a Friday night, pool session on Saturday morning, Open Water Dives one and two on Sunday, and Open Water Dives three and four the next Sunday. After completion of dives three and four, you will have earned your scuba certification card. Assuming the academic requirements have been completed. (click here for calendar)
Answer: Here at DPDC we only use dive sites that meet the NAUI training requirements and needs of the student to attain specific training objectives. We do not take students to a local river or lake in 20' of water for a 20 minute dive, repeat this four times and give you your card. We use Devil's Den in Williston, FL for Open Water Dives 1 and 2 and Blue Grotto Dive Resort in Williston, FL is used for Open Water Dives 3 and 4. On dives 3 and 4 it is our goal to take each student to their allowed maximum depth. We find this real world experience critical to the future successes of our divers. It's not about the card, it's about the competence and experience that comes with proper training.

Answer: We print your certification cards in house after you have earned your scuba certification, you will have your cards in hand no later than two days after you finish the course; typically when you return your rental gear. Electronic certification cards are available immediately once the Instructor has certified the student in the NAUI System.
Answer: Included in the cost of the course is the use of our BC’s, regulators, wetsuits, weights, tanks (filled), pool fee, Instructor fee, dive site entrance fees, and certification card costs. No hidden costs here! (click here for more details)
Answer: The student diver must provide their own mask, fins, snorkel, and dive boots/shoes required for the duration of the course. They are available for purchase or rent at Depth Perception. Transportation to and from the dive sites is not provided; food, drinks and a change of clothing are highly recommended.
